Blush Cremenni Sauce Vegan Recipe

This is a delicious italian cream sauce made without milk or cheese. Instead, almonds and nutritional yeast flakes give it a cream, cheese-like consistency and flavor. It's a great substitute for alfredo sauce.

Use it on thin spaghetti (our favorite), penne pasta, or fettuccini. It's also great on steamed asparagus or as a pizza sauce.

Vegan Ingredients

You will need these vegan ingredients when making Blush Cremenni Sauce.
1/4 medium-sized yellow onion

1 1/2 cup water

1/2 cup almonds

2 firm roma tomatoes

3 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes

1 garlic clove (you will use 1/4 of it)

3/4 tablespoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black shaking pepper

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder

Directions for Making Blush Cremenni Sauce

Follow these directions to prepare the Blush Cremenni Sauce vegan recipe.
Chop onion into medium chunks then sautee with cooking spray over medium-high heat. This takes about 10 minutes.

While the onions sautee, you can begin to prepare the sauce as directed below.

Blend the water and almonds until smooth and creamy.

Blend the following into the vegan cream.

1 roma tomato (save the other)
black shaking pepper
sea salt
1/4 of the sauteed onions (save the rest)
1/4 of your clove of garlic
cayenne pepper powder
nutritional yeast flakes

Lastly, blend in the roma tomato for only about 5 seconds in order to give the sauce a slightly chunky consistency.

Heat the vegan cream over medium heat in a medium sauce pan. Whisk (or stir) constantly until the sauce comes to a boil (about 3 - 5 minutes), then remove from heat.

Serve on your favorite eggless pasta then top with the remaining sauteed onions. For an extra special treat, you may top also with Kalamata olives. It's also great with a side of steamed asparagus.

Or, make a vegan "alfredo" pizza with it.
