Organic Vegan Food

Consider that an organic vegan diet is even better than a non-organic vegan diet. These days it's not difficult to find organic produce at grocery stores. Organic vegetables and fruit usually cost more but the person interested in a very healthy vegan diet usually considers it worth it. Certain packaged vegan food items are also marked as being organic vegan food.

Here are some reasons why an organic vegan diet is better than a non-organic vegan diet.

• Organic vegan foods meet strict standards. Organic certification ensures that toxic chemicals, pesticides, food additives and artificial color have not been used.

• Organic vegan foods taste better then those that have been exposed to toxic chemicals.

• Organic vegan foods contain higher levels of antioxidants and other nutrients.

• Organic vegan foods reduce the toxic burden on the body. Pesticides have been found to cause cancer and other diseases.

• Organic farming reduces toxic farming which is known to contaminate the water, soil and air.

Organic Labeling and Certification

The National Organic Program develops, implements, and administers national production, handling, and labeling standards for organic agricultural products. Look for the "USDA Organic" label where you buy for produce and vegan food products.
